3 Tips for Finding the Perfect Neighborhood - in Northville MI

Finding the right Northville subdivision, or neighborhood is important to every Northville home buyer.  So her are my three tips to help make your Northville move easier.

• Make a list of the activities that you do most.  Do you go to the movies, health club, church, or shop regularly?  Most people like to be close to where they shop, eat, and worship.  See how far you would have to travel from each neighborhood you're considering to engage in your most common activities. If you have a child that has medical problems how far is the hospital?
• Schools.  This is the most important one for Michigan relocation buyers with children.  Check out the school district. The Northville school board can probably provide in-depth information on test scores, class size, percentage of students who attend college, and special enrichment programs. You can Google "compare schools" or "rate schools" and you will come up with different on-line sites that will give you more information.  If you have school-age children, also consider paying a visit to schools in the neighborhoods you're considering. Even if you don't have children, a house in a good school district will be easier to sell in the future.
• Northville crime.  Northville is a relatively safe community.  They have what I call random crime.  But if you would like to know more, stop into the police department for neighborhood crime statistics.  You can also check out the sex offenders site.  REMEMBER THERE WILL BE SEX OFFENDERS IN ALMOST EVERY COMMUNITY.  It is the degree of the sex offender that is important.  There are people that are on the list for urinating in public, or for having pre-marital sex with their high school girlfriend.  So check into the whole story before you cross the neighborhood out.
