Another Livonia day of snowI feel like it is scene out of the movie Ground Hog Day. I am out shoveling snow again. I know we haven't gotten this much snow in years. I'll bet that we haven't had this much snow since the 1970's or the 1980's. We must have about 18 inches of snow on the ground and I am sure we are due to get more this week. I like winter and usually don't mind the snow and the cold weather, though I am a sun person. I love going to Florida and soaking up the sun. I love the water, fishing, the beach. But right now like most of Michiganders I am stuck here. Stuck here because I love Michigan. I love Michigan's change of seasons, I love seeing the trees change colors in the fall, the cool windy breezes and fall nights. Michigan's spring brings the promise of warm weather. The spring rains bring the flowers and green grass. After a long winter we can't wait to see the crocus popping up sometimes through a late snow. Michigan has some much to offer in the summer. Resort towns all across the state. Rivers, forests, and lakes to explore and enjoy. Friends and family live here. Michigan is home no matter what the weather is to me.
Look at how hig the snow is over 12 inches along the walk and snow piles in parking lots are over the height of cars! It's hard to imagine but this guy wrote this quote over a hundred years ago but it still rings true today. So it's my quote of the day. He who every morning plans the transaction of the day and follows out that plan, carries a thread that will guide him through the maze of the most busy life. But where no plan is laid, where the disposal of time is surrendered merely to the chance of incidence, chaos will soon reign. - Victor Hugo 1802-1885
