Bidding on Metro Detroit homes

Now you have signed the purchase agreement for that beautiful Northville home.  You put in a low bid because the home was over priced as compared to other Northville real estate.  The Northville real estate agent took the paper work and sent it to the listing real estate agent.  Now what happens?

You sit and wait.  It may even be a few days to hear from the other side.  Remember the seller may be out of town.  They may be on a business trip.  They may have an important family function to be at.  They may be sick.  Or the real estate agent may not be able to catch up with them.  Believe it or not, sometimes when we need to get a hold of the client we can't find them or reach them.

So you may hear back from the other side in a few hours or a few days.  There is nothing you can do but sit back and wait.  My advice to you is to keep busy.  I know it is nerve racking waiting for an answer.  You will be second guessing yourself on the offer you made.  You will be thinking all sorts of things.  But one thing I can assure you in this Metro Detroit buyer market is that the seller is either thinking hard about your offer which is a good thing or something is going on in their life that they are not responding quickly.

Be patient.  I usually call you at the end of the day to tell you I have not heard anything.  (I know I wouldn't be sleeping well trying to figure out if my realtor didn't call or if we were waiting on the seller )  Try to keep busy.  Go out with friends, exercise, keep your mind and body busy.   Don't worry if they didn't accept your offer and you are the only offer you can allows up your bid.  Or who knows they may accept it on the first round.

Good luck on getting the deal done.  Because that is what is all about.  Buying the home you want in a price range you can afford and be comfortable with.

May you find some money today.

My thought of the day is:

Over the years Ford, GM, and Chrysler have poured money into our local economy.  So if you can buy an American Car, re-think your decision before you buy a foreign model.  Sure some of the foreign models are built here and some have parts from here.  But we need every penny we can get for Metro Detroit's economy.  If only $10,000 of your $25,000 purchase price of your foreign car goes to Japan wouldn't you rather have that $10,000 being spent in the US.
