Clutter, Clutter - Home selling tipsClutter can change the whole image of your house so this is my home selling tip. Too much clutter on counter tops, shelves, table tops can distract home buyers from what they are coming to see. If you have collections don't have them set up all over the house. My basic rule is that you shouldn't have more than 2 or 3 items on any table top, dresser. When you have that many items the house is too busy. You want to give a "clean, neat" look to the house. Hey my own house is lived in. We have notes and appointments on the refridgerator. We must have 4 or 5 magnet at least. But when you are selling your home you need to take all of that down. If you lots of do-dads, knic-knacs on shelves reduce them. You want less stuff. Less is more. Your dressers in your bedrooms, they should really have a lamp or one item on them. It they are bare it is even better.
If you are thinking of selling what you should do is ask your Realtor about a month before to do a walk thru for you. Your Realtor can tell you how to prepare your house to sell.
My quote of the day: The only certain means of success is to render more and better service than is expected of you, no matter what your task may be. . . The surest way to doom yourself to mediocrity is to perform only the work for which you are paid.
