If you are looking for a Farmington Hills lease home or Farmington Hills rental home this is what you need to do to be prepared.

1. Get a recent copy of your credit report with your credit scores.  At least two of them.  Almost every landlord will want to see your credit report.  You can white out account numbers and your social security numbers on them to protect you from identity theft.
2. You will need your latest pay stubs to prove you are still working.
3. You will need last years W-2 to show how much you make.
4. Be prepared to have at least 2 or 3 personal references just in case the landlord asks for them.  Be sure to tell the people you are using for references that somebody may be calling them.
5. Get an employment status letter from your work.   You can ask your HR department for the letter.  It needs to state how much you make a year, that you are currently employed, and how long you have been there.
