Farmington Hills Youth Choir December 22 2010Farmington Hills Youth Choir Celebrates Holiday Season What better way to celebrate the holiday season than to hear young voices lifted in song? The Special Services Department invites the public to come and enjoy the Farmington Hills Youth Choir present its annual holiday concert on Wednesday, December 22 at 7 p.m. at the Farmington Players Barn Theatre. Selections will range from "Can't Stop Believin" from the hit show GLEE, to traditional holiday music such as "Carol of the Bells." The Youth Choir was formed by the City's Cultural Arts Division in 2007. Since then, it has evolved into a program that provides young singers with the opportunity to develop their skills, delve more deeply into musical performance, and acquire new experiences. Under the direction of Brian Christian, the choir continues to expand its repertoire and reach new heights. The Youth Choir was recently asked to be the opening act for the prestigious vocalists of the Michigan Opera Theatre at their Farmington Hills performance. Last year, by means of a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Southeastern Michigan Community Foundation, the Youth Choir performed a piece arranged specifically for them at the Detroit Chamber Winds and Strings "Holiday Brass" concert. Tickets, available at the door, are $5 for adults, $3 for ages 4-17, and free for children 3 and under. The Players Barn Theatre is located at 32332 W. 12 Mile Road.
