Home w fenced yard - metro Detroit relocation infoI get emails about Metro Detroit relocation buyers looking for homes with a fenced yard. Most homes with fenced yards are older homes in Michigan.
In most newer subdivisions you can not have a fenced yard unless you have a pool. So most subdivisions have open yards from one house to another. But older subdivisions before 1980 usually have the ability to have a fenced yard. There are lots of Metro Detroit homes that have fenced yards but usually they are homes built from 1930's - 1970's.
Sometimes you will get lucky to find a newer built house in an older subdivision. Then you at least don't have to go through homeowner's association to put up a fence. Though you will have to check with the city to find out what is required to put up a fence. So if you are moving to Metro Detroit and want a fenced yard and a newer home......it is going to be harder to find a home like that.
