Livonia paper shredding and tire recycling day October 2, 2010As part of Livonia's ongoing reduce, reuse and recycle efforts, Livonia Public Service will be offering a paper shredding and tire recycling morning this Saturday, October 2nd from 8:00am - 12:00 noon at the DPW Yard 12973 Farmington Rd (Located off Graytona, one block south of Schoolcraft, west side of Farmington Rd) Tire Recycling - In conjunction with Wayne County Department of Environment, tires with or without rims may be disposed of. Up to ten tires per household accepted. Paper Shredding - In conjunction with Cintas Document Management and the Livonia Police Department, the City of Livonia is hosting a paper shredding morning to encourage the awareness of and the prevention of identity theft. Residents and businesses may bring sensitive documents for secure shredding, (up to five boxes the size of a recycle bin will be accepted). Examples of items that should be securely shredded include invoices, bank statements, cancelled checks, tax returns, contracts, personal papers, etc. Paper clips, binder clips, and staples do not need to be removed. Bindings and metal spines cannot be shredded and must be removed in advance. You can observe the shredding of your documents on the spot and all shredded paper will be recycled.
