Metro Detroit real estate market is hotYes the Metro Detroit real estate market is hot. I have had four properties that I just listed sell in less than a week. Was it because the properties were exceptional. Not really. Yes I helped the sellers make the necessary improvements and changes to stage their houses. The homes were uncluttered, clean, and neutral colored. No it wasn't because I priced to low. I priced the homes a little above market price. I had to do a lot of research to see what other homes have sold for recently in the neighborhoods. Right now it is a fine line between pricing a home right and over pricing the home. Not only will a over priced home not sell but it won't appraise either. So it doesn't do us any good to over price a home in 2010 becuase a bank won't let a buyer buy a home that is over priced. But it wasn't just that the house was priced right or that the home was staged to sell. Metro Detroit first time home buyers are scrambling to find a home before the first time home buyers credit runs out. The first time home buyer tax credit runs out at the end of the month. Which has been a great thing for my buyers.
