The City of Plymouth is just a small city about 2 square miles in size where Plymouth Township surrounds the city and is larger. The City of Plymouth is where the historic downtown area is and you can walk to the local restaurants, boutiques, festivals, and shops.  Plymouth Township has the lower taxes and many different subdivisions with larger and newer homes.

Plymouth Subdivisions

The newer subdivisions usually don't allow fences unless you have a pool.  Usually in the newer subdivisions they have neighborhood associations that are in charge of maintaining the common areas of the subdivisions.  Many of the subdivisions have green spaces with walking paths and small parks.  Sometimes the associations are very active in putting on social actives for the neighborhood residents, sometimes they do very little.
