Novi first time home buyers advice - how many to see in one day?

This is advice I give to most of my Novi first time home buyers on how many homes to see in one day.  I don't think most home buyers can remember the homes after eight different homes.  So I recommend between 6 and 8 homes is the max you should see. When looking at 6 you can remember the difference between the Novi homes.

But I always recommend my first time home buyers to keep the listing sheets and make notes on them.  That way you can remember what you like and what you don't like on each home.  My relocation buyers that come into town have it down to an art form.  Many of the Metro Detroit relocation buyers that I work with put the homes that they look at, and like on a spread sheet.

That way they will remember what they liked and disliked about the house.  If you get up to seeing eight homes in a day writing down information on the listing ticket will help you remember.  Anything over 8 homes in a day to most buyers get just confusing.  Everything becomes jumbled.  They start putting different features with different homes.

You might as well not go out and look.  Unless there are quite a few homes that are dives, you won't remember what you saw or why you liked them.  Most of my Novi home buyers that have seen 10 or more homes in a day usually never buy any of those homes.  Nothing sticks in their mind.

So my advice to any Novi first time home buyer tips is to break up the showings in multiple days and keep it to 6 to 8 homes in a day.  Six preferably.  Then if you have several homes you like over the course of several days then go out, and see all the homes you like in one day.

I hope this makes your Novi home buying process a little less confusing when trying to find the home of your dreams.

Novi trivia

Many people believe that Novi was named after the No# 6   (No  VI) stage coach stop or train stop.  One version is that it was named after the 6th tollgate (No. VI) on the Grand River toll road. However, the township was named in 1832 and the toll road was not constructed until the 1850s. A similar claim is made about the township being stop number 6 on the railroad. However, the Holly, Wayne and Monroe Railway (now CSX Transportation) was not constructed through the township until 1870-71, almost 40 years after it was named.
