A client of mine that owns a Novi home asked about putting a new kitchen.  They want to know if they would get the money back out of the house.

Unfortunately in today's Novi home market I would have to say no you wouldn't.  But I turned around and posed the questions:

* do you want the kitchen for yourself?

Is the kitchen out dated?

Do you think it needs to be re-done?

   If you answer yes to two or more of these questions then remodeling your kitchen in your Novi home may make sense.  If you are two or more years away from selling then you will get satisfaction and happiness from a new kitchen.  That's what life is about - enjoyment.

So the key is don't go overboard on the expense.  You don't have to get the top of the line cabinets.  Most Novi home buyers would never even notice that they were the best.  And they sure aren't going to pay more your you home just because of the cabinets.

So if you want a new kitchen, and you need a new kitchen then get it.  You may not get all the money out of it.  But when you go to sell your Novi home it will sell quicker and for more money because of an updated kitchen.
