Novi real estate seller tips -Paint Ceilings & Walls

Walls - As a seller you don't realize this but, buyers spend a lot of time looking at ceilings. They are looking for signs of a leaky roof, but what you don't want them to see are stains from grease or smoke and ceiling cracks. It is the same for walls. Nothing says freshness like new paint, and helps cover any odors.  By cleaning the wall's and painting can help get rid of the smoke smell or the old person smell that is caused by the house being closed up too long.  So fix the cracks, the large dents with some spackle. Then paint a neutral color such as light brown - think of coffee with cream.

Wallpaper - Yes all buyers hate wallpaper. They don't want the work to take it down.  And they hate your taste in wallpaper - sure you may love those vegetables on the kitchen walls.  But to them it is hideous.  It's your personal choice, not theirs. And they hate all dated wallpaper. Get rid of it. The easiest way is to steam it off by using an inexpensive wallpaper remover steamer.

Wood paneling - Paint it!  Dated paneling must go. Older wood paneling is out of style, even if it is walnut, mahogany, cedar or pine. Paint it a neutral and soft color after priming.  Many home buyers don't even realize it is paneling sometimes.
