Plymouth is a town that is close to M-14, I-96, & I-275. expressways. M-14 and I-275 expressways cut through the east and northern part of Plymouth.  Located in the western suburbs of Detroit Plymouth has quick and easy access to get to downtown Detroit, Metro airport, Ann Arbor, and just about anywhere in Metro Detroit.  It is about 20 - 30 minutes from either Ann Arbor or Detroit, right about dead center between them.  

From I-275 you take Ann Arbor Rd exit.  From M-14 you can take Sheldon Rd or the Beck exit.

Plymouth and Plymouth Twp are located in Western Wayne County.  Canton Township is to the south, Northville Twp to the north, Livonia to the east and Salem Twp to the West. 

Plymouth and Plymouth Twp are used interchangeably.  Whether you live in Plymouth or Plymouth Twp you will most likely say that you live in Plymouth.    Plymouth and Plymouth Twp are really two different communities governed by two different government.

Many people love to live in the Plymouth area and buy Plymouth real estate because of the easy access to almost anywhere.  Their commutes to work are short and easy.  Many Ford employees, GM employees, airport employees, U of Michigan employees live in Plymouth.
