Southeastern Michigan real estate update

Hi Everyone,

Just curious.. how many of you have seen the latest news about Metro Detroit real estate?  It's exciting news about the four Metro Detroit County "Summer Sizzle" for home sales and media value increase!  When is the last time we heard good news from the papers about the local real estate market?  Just to fill you in on some of the numbers which were shared;  Home sales were up in Livingston and Oakland Counties almost 30% and with Wayne County up over 12%.  Prices were up as well with the median price up 8.8% in Oakland, 11.1% in Wayne but, unfortunate, down 5.5% in Livingston County. 

What this means to you and I is that the limited inventory of Metro Detroit homes compared to the demand for quality homes is currently not in balance.  There are less Metro Detroit homes available because so many people can't afford to sell.  They owe too much on their home compared to what they can sell it for.  As long as this trend continues, we should continue to see prices increase slowly, although probably not at the same rates as the August numbers. 

This may be the best time in several decades to move up with the interest rates in the 4% range.  Call me and let's assess your situation.  You timing may be perfect for not only finding the home of your dreams, but to take advantage of the great interest rates, and home prices that we haven't seen in 10 years or more.

Highland Lakes subdivision homes sold, Northville Michigan

 In the past year 4 homes in Highland Lakes subdivision (Northville, Michigan) have sold. On average these homes were on the market for 32 days. These  Highland Lakes subdivision homes range from 1600 square feet to 2300 square feet. They are mostly colonial style homes.

Highland Lakes subdivision is located between 7 and 8 mile roads and between Meadowbrook and Novi Roads. The homes in Highland Lakes subdivision mostly have Aluminum, vinyl, brick/vinyl, brick exteriors, 2 car garages, 3-4 bedrooms, 2 + bathrooms, basements.

Strawberry Lake homes sold, Hamburg Michigan

In the past year 16 homes on Strawberry Lake (Hamburg, Michigan) have sold. On average the homes on Strawberry Lake range from 550 square feet to 5000 square feet. The majority of the home styles are ranches and colonials.

 Strawberry Lake is a 257 acre, all sports lake. On the north end of the lake the Huron River continues on to Ore Lake. On the southwest side of the lake, Devils Basin connects Strawberry Lake toZukey Lake.
