Wilson barn is located on Middlebelt just south of Plymouth Rd.  It is an important part of Livonia Mi History.

Wilson Barn was built in 1888 to house the Ira Wilson Dairy. It was destroyed in a fire in 1918 and rebuilt about a year later.   It is a typical Michigan barn with clapboard siding, approximately 30-feet by 80-feet. There are three separate levels with a sloping entrance.

The stalls on the ground level were remodeled in 1945 so that Percheron horses could be stabled here. The barn has an attached silo that is 15 foot in diameter and 45 foot in height.  It was the largest silo ever to be constructed in Livonia MI.

The barn is preserved by the friends of Wilson Barn.  The site holds flower shows, car shows throughout the summer.

http://www.detroitmichiganrealestatehomes.com/real-estate/LivoniaThroughout the year there are different holiday programs.

  Livonia's farmer's market is held

every Saturday from May to Mid October.http://www.detroitmichiganrealestatehomes.com/real-estate/Livonia

Wilson Barn Livonia MI is listed as an historic site at both state and national levels.

Ira Wilson married Mary Smith of nearby Plymouth Township in the year 1888. Twenty years later he would build for her the family farm mansion. Sadly Livonia let this house be condemned and destroyed in 1970.
