Downtown Northville is the center focus for both Northville and Northville Township.  The City of Northville was incorporated as a village in 1867 and as a city in 1955.  The Township was established in 1898 and became a Charter Township in 1985.  The City of Northville is a delightful mix of old and new.  Northville retains it's historic atmosphere and yet is lively and energetic.  Northville's community of approximately 6500 residents located on the western fringe of Wayne County and the Detroit Metro area just west of I-275.

Here is a quick look at downtown Northville.  Now this is just an amatuer video so don't expect it to be perfect.  I just want to give people who are thinking of moving to metro Detroit a quick look and an idea of what Northville is like.

If you are thinking of relocating to Redford Michigan and buying a piece of Redford Township real estate, here is Redford demographics.  This will give you a glimpse of the city and what it's residents characteristics are. 

I think there will be a big change in Redford demographics.  With the subprime mortgages it changed the characteristics of Redford Township.  It will be interesting to see what the 2010 census says about Redford real estate.

                        Canton was originally a farming community but starting in 1970 there was a building boom.  From 1970 to 2000 Canton's main business was construction.  Subdivision after subdivision sprouted up over the years.

Here is a 1970's Canton Township colonial.  Many Canton Township colonials are some brick and vinyl exterior.  Some of the homes have wood, aluminum siding, or vinyl siding.  But most of them have some brick on them.

     This is a typical 1990's -2000 brick colonial.  They range from 2000 square feet up to 4000 square feet.

Canton Township Michigan has many ranch homes - great for older buyers that want main floor bedrooms and laundries!  No need to go into the basement if they don't want to.  Many of these Canton Township ranch homes make great starter homes too.

                                                Yes Canton Township has Cape cod homes, bi-levels, and qual-level homes too. 

Most Canton homes have basements and attached garages.

Yes as you know most of this Northville demographic information is from the 2000 census, but I don't think it has changed much.  There has not been a tremendous amount of building in the City of Northville.

Here are some photos of Canton Michigan if you are looking for Canton relocation information.  Canton Michigan is one city that planned it's growth very carefully.  Canton has designed a nice municipal complex located on Canton Center Rd just south of Cherry Hill.

The Library is located right across from the townships municipal offices.

This is Canton Michigan recreation center - they call it Summit on the Park.

All of these muncipal buildings are within walking distance of each other.  And after you finish going to the library, or the Townships offices you can head out back to Heritage Park.  Heritage Park is a very large park with playsets, baseball fields, and picnic areas.
