Should you buy a Metro Detroit condo?

This is part two of my series of Metro Detroit condos because they are a big part of our Metro Detroit real estate market and many people want a condo.

What is your lifestyle?

1. Like to be close to other people?
2. Do you travel a lot?
3. Want a pool with out the upkeep?
4. Do you hate doing yard work?
5. Not good on ladders, hate cleaning gutters, caulking and painting the outside of a home
6. Don't like dealing with contractors to keep up the outside of your home?
7. Don't like shoveling snow?
8. Lead a very busy life?
9. Single?
10. Physical limitations?

These are all great reasons why your lifestyle might lean toward living in a condo. Sure appreciation of the condo matters, but your life style should be one of the big factors on what type of home you buy.

Why buy a home that you are chained to because of the work?  I know some people that own a home that don't or can't take care of the outside of the home.  And it shows.  It is going to hurt them when they go to sell the home and it is going to cost a lot of money to fix it up at some point.

These people aren't slobs, they are either too busy or have no interest in keeping up the outside of the home.  So buy a home that you can take care of.  I want you to be happy in your home.  So if a Metro Detroit condo makes sense, buy one!
