What can you expect to get for $150,000 on Oakland County Lakes? An Oakland County Lake front buyer asked me the other day, "What can I expect to get for $150,000 on an Oakland County Lake?" Oakland County Lake front prices are dependant on the size of the lake, the type of lake, and the city it in. West Bloomfield and Bloomfield Township Lake front property will cost you the most money. The schools, the prestige of the city runs the price up. A small tear down house on those lakes could cost $200,000 - $400,000 for a piece of garbage home.
But you could get a nice $150,000 Oakland County lake front home on a small non-all sports lake. .Nice I mean it is move in ready. Move in ready. Decent cabinets, decent exterior, decent windows, and non weedy lakefront is what I mean for move in ready. When I say For a $150,000 you can get a nice 1000 -1300 square foot home on a small all-sports lake. But it is going to take time. They are not just out there all the time. Those lake front homes get snapped up quickly. So if you see one you need to jump on it.
You are more apt to find a nice $150,000 all sports lake front on the lakes that are on the furthest edges of Oakland County. Of course the bigger the all-sports lake the more expensive the home will be for the same size. Or sometimes you can find a lake front home that is in Pontiac school system and get a deal.
It may cost $200,000 - $250,000 for a nice home on a good lake like Cedar Island Lake, or Lake Orion. If you have the money and ability to fix up a home there are sometime Oakland County lake front homes in the under $150,000 that would be worth $225- $250,000 fixed up.
