What will the health care reform mean to me?

I honestly don't know what it means yet.  My wife and I pay big health care bills because of her cancer and some of my health problems.  It's not unusual for us to have well over $14,000 in health care costs a year.  We pay our insurance premiums ourselves.  Add co-pays and prescription drug costs we have gone over $20,000.

If health care reform could help people like us it would be nice.  I don't know if the bill is good or not.  But I don't know how I would be able to afford all of our prescriptions when we get older.  We are over 50 now and health care costs are continuing to rise for us.

But there is one part of the bill that scares me.  Some people truly can't afford health care insurance.  I myself have gone at times without health care.  There will be some people that can't afford the premiums.  I don't think it is fair to penalize them.  I guess we will have to wait and see.  Wait to see if the health care bill is good or bad.

I hope it turns out for the majority of American to be a good thing.
