Whew Michigan is not in the top 10 on that listThank Goodness The State of Michigan is not in the top 10 states that are going to lose more people than they gain. That is a good thing. Using 2010 projections by Moody's Economy.com, Forbes magazine ranked the states in which people are leaving faster than they are arriving. Michigan is not in the top ten. I actually see the trend of people returning home from places that moved to a few years ago. One of the reasons people are coming back to Michigan is family. People are coming home again. Grandparents coming home to be near the kids. The younger generation coming back because they now realize that family is more important than the high paying dream job.
Yes they may not be moving back to the City of Detroit, but Metro Detroit suburbs and the lakes and forest of the beautiful State of Michigan are calling them back. Yes we have lost many auto industry jobs, but the people of Michigan are resilient. Slowly but surely our industry and our job base will change to other industries than automotive. That will be the salvation of Michigan. The top 10 states that are losing more people than gaining are: Nebraska, New York, Kansas, Louisiana, North Dakota, Illinois, Ohio, Mississippi, Iowa, South Dakota, Canton MI one of the safest cities Farmington Hills real estate relocation information Where are you going to live in Detroit's suburb - Michigan relocation tips Northville demographics Michigan - Northville real estate
My quote of the day is: Home is a place you grow up wanting to leave, and grow old wanting to get back to.
